Business General
All our business majors will equip students with general business skills and knowledge so a student may not double major between General Business and other business majors. Students who would like to apply transfer credits toward the general business minor will be limited to no more than one-half the total required number of credits. All students entering junior-level business and economics courses are expected to have competency in computer-based word processing and spreadsheet skills.

Students choose classes from accounting, economics, finance and business law, information technology, management, marketing, occupational safety, and supply chain. During the course of their studies, students have the option of changing their major to specialize in a specific area or to remain in the general business major and graduate with a respected business degree from UW-Whitewater. A Safety and Risk Management emphasisis also available for the General Business major.

Emphasis is placed on understanding business concepts and their application to solving business problems. Thus, the main objective of the program is to develop future business leaders who are creative, knowledgeable, innovative, ethical, and capable of adapting to the dynamic business environment of today’s global marketplace. As the global business environment becomes increasingly complex, there is a growing need for talented business managers. When you complete your bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at UNC, you’ll be ready for entry-level management positions in business, not-for-profit organizations and government. The management emphasis also prepares you to pursue an MBA or other master’s degree programs.
Winter intersession is an online intensive four-week class offered between the fall and spring semesters. College of The Albemarle’s General Business Administration curriculum is designed to introduce you to various aspects of the free enterprise system. You’ll be provided with a fundamental knowledge of business functions, processes, and an understanding of business organizations in today’s global economy. Our business graduates regularly score in the top five to 10 percent on the national Educational Testing Service Major Field Test in Business, which assesses core business knowledge. This option requires six additional hours of study and provides a comprehensive overview of the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and marketing analysis, as well as an understanding of small business enterprises. Get real-world business experience and career preparation working with local businesses through our Professional Experience program and networking events with area business leaders.
Although other courses listed are not required to be completed in the designated sequence, the recommendations below are preferred. Macomb’s Workforce and Continuing Education Department offers certificate programs in business that may be earned in six months or less. These can provide you with a gateway into a business career and the option of earning a salary in a business-related position while you pursue further education, training and/or certification in legalkushonline. A diverse group of professionals, our faculty members hold advanced degrees in many facets of business. These individuals bring a combination of business experience and academic training.
Graduates are prepared for employment opportunities in government agencies, financial institutions and business industry. FastTrack is an accelerated degree program that lets you earn your bachelor’s and master’s degrees in as little as five years. Through the Eastin Center, Spears Business supports our students’ professional growth from awareness, to acquisition of knowledge, to practice and feedback, and ultimately successful implementation.
This course is restricted to students who have completed at least 54 credit hours or 24 credits with minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Obtain comprehensive knowledge in all the functional areas of business while maintaining a broad-based education in business management. This combination provides the integrative management skills to operate both within and across functional responsibility areas, an ability valued highly by employers.
